All our newsletters so far.

Hello!

We are back to updating the blog regularly. But before we start going forward, let’s go on a trip down memory lane and take a look at every newsletter we have sent out so far.

In April 2011 we sent out our first newsletter and we launched the blog. Yes, this blog. It was titled “What’s new at The ilovereadin’ Library“.

In May 2011 we sent out a terrible newsletter that simply said “We need your ideas“.

June 2011 was the month that we started stocking graphic novels and regional translated literature. That mailer was called “Batman and Paper Flowers“. Also in that mailer we advertised for storytellers and a librarian.

In August 2011, a lot of changes took place. I went back home, Arpitha joined, we started work on the new website. It was an exciting time, “We are changing” captured the changes.

In October 2011 the new, redesigned website was launched and an exciting mailer announced the launch. It was titled “What’s new at The ilovereadin’ Library“.

November 2011 was an exciting month because of the books that launched then: “What an EXCITING month it has been!

December 2011 announced our setting up in Coimbatore, a new librarian at Chennai and the book club in “Breakfast, Books and New Cities“.

Later that month we also released a video because we turned two, hiked our price and officially launched in Coimbatore. We also made a red variation of our logo in “Good, better and even better news“.

In January 2012 we sent a nice mailer about a few books that had relevance at that point in time. “January Spotlights” made Hugo a very popular book with our members.

February 2012‘s newsletter arrived in everyone email inbox “Announcing The Mad Librarian’s Tea Party“. Pictures from the event are on our facebook page.

March 2012 continued the Spotlight tradition, but this time the books that we featured were modern interpretation of traditional Indian myths. The newsletter was titled “Want to relive grandma’s tales this summer?“.

April 2012 continued the tradition with a list of fantasy books that aren’t as popular as Harry Potter or LOTR. “Merlin’s Beard!

Phew. That was a fun trip wasn’t it?

Amrut and I went to the book launch of River of Smoke at Taj Coromandel. Gopalakrishna Gandhi introduced Amitav Ghosh with a self-deprecatory humour routine.

We had to get new copies of his books because all the copies we had had gone out!
